Programs in this core area enable youth to become proficient in basic educational disciplines, set goals, explore careers, prepare for employment and embrace technology to achieve success in a career.

  • Date SMART
    Date SMART

    Date SMART is a supplement to SMART Girls and Passport to Manhood for Club members ages 13 to 18. Through fun and easy-to-use sessions, members learn how to achieve mutually supportive relationships free of violence and abuse. The program also encourages youth to become community advocates for relationships that promote equality and respect while combating the attitudes and behaviors that lead to dating, sexual and domestic violence.

    Healthy Habits is designed to incorporate healthy living and active learning in every part of the Club experience, Healthy Habits emphasizes:​​​

  • Passport to Manhood
    Passport to Manhood

    The Passport to Manhood program promotes and teaches responsibility and reinforces positive behavior in male Club members ages 11-14. Passport to Manhood consists of 14 small-group sessions, each of which concentrates on a specific aspect of manhood through highly interactive activities. Each participant is issued his own "Passport" to underscore the notion that he is on a personal journey of maturation and personal growth. The program represents a targeted effort to engage young boys in discussions and activities that reinforce character, leadership and positive behavior.

  • The Golf Club
    The Golf Club

    The Golf Club teaches youth the skills they will need to be successful members of our society. Golf is a game that builds character. Players respect, rather than challenge, the rules of golf. Courtesy and dignity are as much as part of the game as striking the ball. To succeed, players must learn to control their emotions and focus their concentration. Critical thinking, goal setting, respecting others and the environment, making the most out of each situation, and relying on themselves are all skills players develop.

  • SMART Girls
    SMART Girls

    SMART Girls is a health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement program for girls ages 8-12 and 13-17. Through dynamic, age-appropriate sessions, highly engaging activities, field trips and mentoring opportunities with adult women, CLub girls explore their own and societal attitudes and values. The program emphasizes building skills for:​

    Eating Right
    Staying Physically Fit
    Getting Good Health Care
    Developing Positive Relationships with Peers and Adults

  • SMART Moves
    SMART Moves

    This nationally acclaimed, comprehensive prevention program helps young people resist alcohol, tobacco, drugs and premature sexual activity. SMART Moves features engaging, interactive, small-group activities that increase participants peer support, enhance their life skills, build their resiliency and strengthen their leadership skills. This year round program encourages collaboration among Club staff, youth, parents and representatives from other community organizations. The program's components are: SMART kids for ages 6-9, Start SMART for ages 10-12, and Stay SMART for ages 13-15.
