Family Dinners at the Club Nourishing Bodies and Minds

At the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands-Riverside, we believe that family time is an essential part of community life. That’s why we’re thrilled to offer our Greatful Family Dinners every other month, where parents, kids, and caregivers can gather for a nourishing meal while engaging in meaningful conversations about mental health.

Our Greatful Family Dinners are more than just a meal—they are an opportunity for our Club families to enjoy healthy, delicious food together. We understand the importance of providing nutritious meals for our members and their families, which is why all dishes served are designed to promote health and well-being. By featuring fresh ingredients and balanced recipes, we aim to inspire families to make healthier choices at home.

These gatherings are made possible through a highly competitive grant awarded to us by the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI) Evidence-Based Practices and Community-Defined Evidence Practices Grant Program: Trauma-Informed Programs and Practices. This funding supports the expansion of behavioral health services through individual, family, and group therapy, along with the implementation of the Mind Matters Curriculum. This proven program addresses critical behavioral health challenges and helps young people build resilience in the face of toxic stress.

Each Family Dinner includes an educational component focused on key behavioral health topics. This series aims to provide practical tools and resources to help parents and caregivers navigate the challenges of raising confident, healthy, and thriving children. Supporting behavioral health means helping youth build emotional resilience, develop better communication skills, and gain strong coping strategies. For parents and caregivers, it’s about learning ways to guide their kids positively while staying grounded and balanced.

Through engaging presentations and discussions, we aim to demystify mental health topics and provide strategies for fostering emotional well-being. The atmosphere at our dinners is friendly and inclusive, allowing everyone to connect and feel supported. Whether it's catching up with friends or making new ones, our Family Dinners serve as a celebration of the power of family, the strength of community, and the connections that make us all better together.

We encourage all Club families to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. Not only will you enjoy a healthy meal, but you’ll also leave with new knowledge and tools to support your family's mental health. Together, we can create a stronger, healthier community.

If you're interested in attending our next Greatful Family Dinner, check our event calendar or contact the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands-Riverside for more information. We can’t wait to see you there! Let’s eat, learn, and grow together as a family.
